Amanda Mitchell has focused on behavior change throughout her 25–year career in communications. She created The O’Keefe Group based on the belief that adhering to core human values and achieving business success are always compatible. A belief crystallized for Amanda each time she witnessed a company sacrifice profitability by wasting human capital.
As an advertising agency account executive, she saw first hand how the consolidations of the 1980s created vast, new bureaucracies where the negative impact of poor managerial decisions was felt but not addressed. Working closely with small companies as well as blue chip clients like Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris and Johnson & Johnson, she ran divisions within Omnicom and Interpublic and came to a deeper understanding of how profoundly the happiness and productivity of employees impacts both innovation and the bottom line.
Her career is dedicated to understanding the motivations and beliefs that drive decisions and to constructing solutions to workplace dilemmas. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, executive career planning and management and navigating career transitions. As a coach, her goal is to support and encourage those who create environments where people can thrive.
A strong proponent of credentialing for coaches, she holds a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF) the acknowledged global credentialing body for coaches. She is also a Master Certified Career Coach (MCCC) through Career Coach Institute.
In addition to her membership with the ICF, she is also a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA), Women in Sports & Events (WISE), Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), and Coachville. Active in many professional organizations dedicated to marketing, business development and leadership, she has a BA in Advertising from Michigan State University.
Due to an unfortunate proclivity toward naming pets after her transitory heroes, she now lives in NJ with Monty Hall and Kirby Puckett.
